Link Building Strategies

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a technique which enables your website to get higher ranking in the search engine’s index listing. Link building is one of many ways by which you can optimize your website’s position on the search engine results page. Search engines tend to love the inbound links to any website; a higher number of links will give you a big advantage. Search engines analyze the popularity of a website through the inbound links attached to it. Below mentioned sources will help you gather good SEO inbound links to your website:

1. The first and foremost thing you will require for an effective link building campaign is a professional blog. Blogs enable you to not only get the links but will also increase the page rank of your website. Start posting quality articles on the blog, ideally, on an average of 4-5 articles per week.

Once you have created and established a blog, you will have the option of guest posting on other blogs in your niche. In the guest posting methodology the host receives a blog post and in return the guest blogger gets back a quality link to the URL of their choice. But apart from the link you get the exposure and a decent amount of traffic from the host blog.

2. Social media sites can serve as a great link building technique. Build pages on all major social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+ and then submit the relevant article along with a link of your site back. These social media sites generally have good Alexa and PageRank, linking with them will usually benefit you in the long term.

Other social media sites such as Digg, Reddit, Delicious and StumbleUpon can also be used for social bookmarking. Try to follow communities that are relevant to your niche and build a healthy relation with all of your audience, post such articles that will help in finding like-minded professionals and communities.

3. Press releases are a great way to build quality inbound links. There are numerous press release distribution options on the internet, which give you either one-way or two-way links. Some press release websites offer the inbound links as free while some may charge you a small fee. These websites provide keyword rich anchor text along with the option of tracking the number of inbound links.

4. Build content that can be shared using a license agreement. If you have photos, videos, raw data, graphics or a chart that can be licensed using some creative commons attribution, use them in exchange for some quality links. You even have the option of buying some inbound links from internet, but don’t let the search engines find out.

Among all the on-page and off-page factors that determine the ranking in search engines, link building is the most crucial of all. Inbound links are considered as a sample of authority, so work on getting as many quality links as possible. But be aware that the links should be within the niche in which you intend to operate. Your domain name and the quality of the inbound links are also considered by the search engines; try to have a mix of all low, medium and high inbound links on your site.
