Everything You Need to Know For Working From Home Using Blogging

The Three Key Aspects to SEO – Post Panda

Posted by BlogTime On April - 10 - 2012

SEO as most people know is a constantly changing target and the reason why is because the search engines are constantly trying to stay ahead of the SEO gamers that seek to position their’s or their client’s web pages in prime positions in the search engine results pages. Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. on the other hand seek to present what they consider to be the best and highest quality matches to the enquiry that has been entered into the search box.

You may ask why do the two objectives clash? And the simple answer is that people with the best sites that provide the best information, solutions to problems, services and or products, in other words content, may not necessarily know very much about SEO at all. The consequence of this is that they can be left at the starting blocks when it comes to being found and listed high up on search engine results pages. Don’t get me wrong, great content is always the starting point for getting a decent page rank and, for natural evolution of a site to a position of authority with the search engines, there is always a need for top quality unique information. The problem for the search engines is how do they determine that is the case with the tools they have available.

Social Media Network & SEO

Social Network & SEO

The world of search engine optimization has changed significantly in the last 12 months. Why? Because the social media sites have come to the fore and quality content has grown even more in importance. So now the question is, how do search engines use social media to help rank websites and ensure that the content on a website does truly have high quality content?

The answer to the first part of the question is all about the activity on social media sites, sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. Quite simply put, people need to be talking about your website or blog, re-tweeting your tweets and sharing the articles you put out with their contacts or connections. The very fact there is interest in your posts will indicate what you are writing or publishing has some sort of value, and is of good quality.

Creating a Successful Website

The key element to creating a successful website is balance. It can be difficult during the planning stages to try and reconcile the designers’ desire for a well laid out, aesthetically pleasing appearance, and the necessity of implementing SEO methods to ensure the website will be well-ranked. Before beginning the design process, educate yourself about effective SEO techniques.

Keywords in Your URL and Domain Name

Posted by BlogTime On February - 3 - 2011

This is a subject that has been discussed before and it really covers where search engines look first for the keywords that identify what a URL or individual page is about i.e. the content within the page. Note I said URL not website, this is because each page is assessed for its content not the whole site as one entity.

It follows then that, when you choose a domain name for your site, including a primary keyword is probably a good idea if you are interested in SEO results. Likewise when you create additional pages for your website, think about what the page is about and of course which keywords you are targeting for the page. This is because the name you give to the file, be it an html, php or some other format, forms part of the URL for the page and as such can contain a keyword or if you really push it perhaps 2 keywords or keyword combinations.

Keywords in Domain Name URLsOf course if you think about this even further then each individual blog post you make also has a URL and (with WordPress anyway) you can edit the URL to be what you want. Very easy to forget this, I do it all the time, the URL gets created automatically and basically takes on the full title of your post, if you have things set up that way. But when you are in the edit screen there is a little ‘Edit’ button or an option to ‘Get Shortlink’ if you prefer, the latter is providing you haven’t already edited the automatically produced version. So in a word, or keyword for that matter, putting primary keywords in your domain name, page and post URL’s will help your SEO efforts, and if you don’t believe me, you can watch what Matt Cutts of Google corporation has to say about it below.

Optimizing your blog for search engines

SEO

Competition is fierce online, and the top places on the search result pages are the most hunted for; therefore, any blog owner who tries to make money on the Internet needs to use a whole strategy to attract the best visitors and the highest traffic. The working principle for the blog optimization for search engines is the keyword. When you start the race for SEO (search engine optimization), you already have an advantage: blogs are usually the ones to receive more traffic than other complex sites due to their highly informational content. By keywords we mean those sentences or structures that a user types in the search box of an engine, ideally your chosen domain name and titles will be what I call keyword rich i.e. will consist of the words that get entered into the search engines when someone is looking for the theme of your blog.
