5 Things That Can Get Your AdSense Account Banned

[ad name=”Adsense3″]AdSense is a great way to make money with your blog and to build  a passive income. You can showcase advertising on your blog with the leader in search and make a few cents to a few dollars every time someone clicks on those ads. Find a keyword that pays enough or build enough traffic to your site and you can start to make a good amount of money through the program.

Because AdSense is such a popular program, there is great potential for some people to try to take advantage of it. Google maintains strict standards to try to ensure that the program gets results for advertisers and vendors alike. If you break any of these rules — whether intentionally or not — it is possible for you to have your account banned. Permanently.

Here are 5 things that can get your AdSense account banned:

Click On Your Own Ads

Think you will increase your revenue by sitting around clicking on the ads on your own site all day? Think again. Google will ban your account immediately if you click on your own ads even once. Don’t think you can get away with a couple of clicks or that you can use software or other tricks to go unnoticed: Google will find out, and the price you pay will be your account.

Get Others to Click on Your Ads

Some people think they can slip by Google by asking other people to click on their ads instead of doing it themselves. This can include asking friends and family to click on your ads, participating in “click rings,” or hiring workers from overseas to click on your ads. Again, Google will catch on to this prohibited activity. Stick to finding ways to grow your traffic and your click-through rates organically instead of risking your account.

Open More than One Account

Google only allows you to have one AdSense account for all the websites that you own. You cannot try to circumvent rules or hide activity by opening more than one account. If you open more than one account, you will get banned, and your e-mail and any websites associated with that account will not be allowed to be associated with any new account you try to create.

Put Ads on Outlawed Websites

Google does not allow ad placement on certain kinds of websites, including those that have pornographic or discriminatory content (such as websites with hate speech). If you show ads next to this type of content — even if the website itself is acceptable — your account will also be banned.

Improper Use or Placement of Ads

There are a number of ways you can place ads on your site that could violate terms of the user agreement, including putting them on pop-ups, placing them next to images intended to deceive users into clicking, or putting them on pages with no content. Read the terms of service for AdSense closely and be sure that you are following all the rules when placing your ads. Any violation and you could be banned permanently from the service.

If used properly, Google AdSense is a great way to make money with your blog. However, if you’re not careful — or if you deliberately try to take advantage of the system — you could get yourself permanently banned and lose your opportunity for a great source of passive income. Read the terms of service carefully and follow the rules. You could be sorry if you don’t!
